STIP - MACEDONIA

Stip, the largest town in eastern Macedonia, is the center of the country’s textile and fashion industry and boasts many important testaments to Macedonia’s past.
Numerous small shops and manufacturing centers add to the picturesque quality of the town, positioned between two rivers, while the old fortress on the Isar Hill keeps a watchful eye for any advancing enemies.
Some of Stip’s churches date back to the 14th century, while its Ottoman past is captured in the Bezisten and Husa Medin-Pasha Mosque - all reminders of Macedonia’s culturally diverse heritage.
The Stip area is rich in archaeological sites, including the remnants of the classical towns of Bargala and Astibo found nearby.
